As the agricultural show season gets into full swing, Kingdom County Show has officially launched its "biggest and brightest event yet".

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Kingdom County Show, which is always a highlight in the showing calendar in the Co. Kerry and beyond.

Thousands of people are expected to attend the two-day show at a dedicated site in Ballymacthomas, close to Tralee, on Saturday and Sunday (May 10-11).

The launch night, held this week at the Meadowlands Hotel, Tralee, was "a joyful gathering of community spirit, local pride and anticipation".

Supporters and friends of the show came together to reflect on the past and look ahead to a landmark event.

They were joined by the Kerry Rose contestants, who mingled with the guests and "added sparkle to the celebrations".

Kingdom County Show will again host a range of showing classes for cattle, sheep, goats, horses, and ponies, with thousands of euro in prize money on offer.

There is an extended cattle-showing programme on Sunday, with classes for dairy, beef, and young handlers.

Showjumping will take place on both days, while the very popular dog show will be held on Sunday.

Families can enjoy live music, interactive displays, and local food trucks, while farming enthusiasts can look forward to the very best in agriculture, machinery, and rural innovation.

As part of this year’s celebrations, Kingdom County Show has confirmed that its chosen charity is the Little Blue Heroes Foundation.

The foundation supports families of children with serious illnesses, many of whom dream of becoming little gardaí.
