Killadoon Milk, Ireland’s best start-up winner at the 2024 Blas na hÉireann Awards, is supporting the Children’s Health Foundation this Christmas.

On Friday, December 20, the family-run dairy in Celbridge, Co. Kildare, will donate 100% of sales of its award-winning whole milk and flavoured milk to Crumlin Children’s Hospital through the Children’s Health Foundation.

The farm was converted from beef and tillage to dairy in 2019, with a single source Jersey cross herd.

The whole milk has been celebrated for the ‘creamy farmhouse’ flavour. Pasteurised but non-homogenised, Killadoon Milk retains its natural texture and rich flavour.

At the heart of Killadoon Milk’s passion for sustainability, are its vending machines, which redefine how milk is delivered to consumers.

Killadoon Milk has established a network of these eco-friendly machines in retail stores, which incorporate a reusable glass bottle system to eliminate single use plastic and packaging waste.

Customers purchase a reusable glass bottle from the bottle vending machine at a participating store or bring their own reusable bottle, then fill it directly from the adjacent Killadoon Milk vending machine.

Alongside its whole milk, the Killadoon Milk vending machines offer a range of four flavoured milks.

Whole milk, strawberry, chocolate, banana, and salted caramel are available at vending machines located in Fallon & Byrne, in Dublin city; Avoca, Dunboyne; SuperValu Rathgar, SuperValu Lucan and Rye River Café, Kilcock, Co Kildare.

“At Killadoon Milk, we are committed to making a positive difference, both through sustainable farming and by giving back to the community that supports us,” said Vanessa Donovan, co-founder of Killadoon Milk.

“This Christmas, we’re proud to extend that commitment by donating 100% of all sales from our vending machines on Friday, December, 20 to the Children’s Health Foundation.

“It’s an honour to support such an important cause in any small way we can while continuing to deliver fresh traceable high quality milk and reduce environmental impact through our reusable glass bottle initiative,” she added.

Customers who wish to contribute further to the Children’s Health Foundation can do so using the QR code on the Killadoon Milk vending machines and the donation link is also available through its website.

The Instagram account will feature a QR code, allowing for additional donations to be made directly to the charity.
