Four quads which had been taken in a burglary over the weekend were recovered by Gardaí belonging to the Laois-Offaly division.

The quads had been taken in an overnight raid in the early hours of Saturday, November 7.

On Saturday morning, members of An Garda Síochána based in the Laois-Offaly region said: “Portlaoise Garda are investigating a burglary overnight on November 7 at JK Autos, during the course of which four quads were stolen.”

The Gardaí noted that two Cam Am 450 quads, one Suzuki 750 and one Honda 500, were stolen.

“If you passed by the location at the Heath between 7:00pm and 9:00am [Saturday] morning and saw anything suspicious, please let Gardaí know at: 057-8674100.”

Yesterday, Gardaí provided an update on the matter, stating:

As a result of the invaluable assistance from the public after seeing our post regarding the theft of these quads, our colleagues in Portlaoise Detective Unit carried out a search [yesterday morning, Sunday, November 8] in a remote area on the Laois/Kildare border which resulted in the recovery of the four quads.

“Thank you for your help again and, like we say, we can only succeed in tackling criminality if we continue to work together,” the Garda statement said.
