Gardai are seeking the public’s assistance to locate the owners of a range of stolen farm equipment located in counties Carlow and Kilkenny last week.

Last Friday (January 26), an appeal for the owner of cattle feed barriers – which members of An Garda Siochana say were stolen and located in Co. Kilkenny – to come forward to claim their property was issued.

As pictured on the Garda Siochana Kilkenny/Carlow Facebook page, there are five barriers in question – with accompanying attachments.

The rightful owner, or anyone who may know the owner, is asked to contact Kilkenny Garda station on: 056-7775011.

Meanwhile, Carlow Gardai recovered a range of farm equipment after conducting follow-up searches over the past week – following the recent seizure of power tools that are believed to have been stolen.

The Gardai seized a range of property, including: three vintage tractors – two Fords and a David Brown; a mini excavator; three trailers, including two Ifor Williams models; a generator; and hedge trimmers.

According to the local Gardai, a viewing day for all property seized will be advertised in the coming weeks. These recent seizures and previous operations targeting the theft of property in the Kilkenny/Carlow division were conducted under ‘Operation Trojan’, according to An Garda Siochana.

Power tools recovered

Meanwhile, on Friday, January 19, Gardai in Carlow recovered a range of power tools following an investigation into thefts in the area.
