‘Follow me up to Carlow’…in search of a machinery bargain

Farm machinery dealership Gordon Hegarty and Sons will hold an auction of second-hand tractors, machinery, parts and other items at its premises at Slaneyquarter, Tullow, Co. Carlow, on Saturday, April 22.

The sale will kick off at 11am. A selection of tractors will be offered, along with a variety of tillage and grassland implements. There will also be special offers in the stores department.

The auction will be conducted by Michael Doyle Properties – a well-known Tullow firm. Further details and pictures of the lots will be available on the ‘Michael Doyle Auctions’ Facebook page.

For those keen to inspect the equipment ‘in the flesh’ beforehand, viewing will be open to all on Friday, April 21, and the morning of the auction.

Range of equipment

Available tractors will include a selection of Deutz-Fahr examples, along with a Ford 7710. O&K enthusiasts might care to bid on a handy-sized L15 loading shovel.

Used mounted sprayers will include examples from Hardi, Berthoud and Gambetti. Also expect to see balers and a silage wagon (Strautmann). Also among the lots will be spreaders, feeding equipment, hedge-cutters and a brace of slurry equipment – tankers and agitators.

A wide range of parts is also promised, including oils, filters and full service kits.

Below is a selection of pictures, detailing just some of the many lots up for sale on the day.
