Corrin Mart will hold a herd dispersal sale for Maurice Walsh, Carhue, Kilbehenny, Mitchelstown, Co. Cork, on Friday (March 4). This will be the first dispersal sale of the year held by the Cork based mart.
The sale will consist of 90 top quality dairy stock, including 85 dairy cows, four maiden heifers and one pure bred Aberdeen Angus bull.
Ahead of the sale AgriLand spoke with Corrin Mart manager Sean Leahy, to gain a bit of insight as to what buyers can expect.
Commenting on the upcoming sale, Sean said: ”These cows are a coming from a very genuine herd, with the owner now retiring from dairying.
”Last year the herd supplied over 520kg of milk solids to the co-op. Buyers can expect a mix of freshly-calved cows and in-calf cows on the point of calving.
”These cows would add to any herd they may join or would be super foundation stock for a new entrant into dairy farming.”
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions the sale will take place online on the Livestock Live (LSL) platform, viewing is by appointment only between 9:30a.m and 11:00a.m, with the sale commencing at 11:00a.m sharp.
For further details or to book an appointment to view the stock, contact Corrin Mart on 025-31611 or the marts manager Sean Leahy.
