Dairygold has announced its milk price for July supplies, and also announced a rebate of €20/t for feed.
The co-op board has increased its July quoted milk price by 0.5c/L to 38.5c/L, based on standard constituents of 3.3% protein and 3.6% butterfat, inclusive of sustainability and quality payments, and VAT.
The July Milk Price equates to an average farm gate milk price of 43cpl for the month, based on the average milk solids, achieved by Dairygold milk suppliers, the processor said.
The co-op is also offering a €20/t rebate on bulk mainline dairy and beef feeds.
The rebate applies to feed delivered over a three-week period from yesterday (Monday, August 17) up to September 7 (inclusive of those dates).
Dairygold added that a "cost effective" fodder stretcher feed is available to all its customers.
A reasonable usage policy and other terms and conditions will apply to the rebate.
Dairygold chairperson Pat Clancy said: "From a dairy market perspective, the record heatwaves experienced across Europe have impacted milk supply in the region, with a modest uplift in pricing and sentiment.
"At a global level, there is still a supply overhang in the marketplace, with protein continuing to perform well, while butterfat remains challenged," Clancy added.
"Our board is acutely aware of the significant challenges the drought conditions are causing for members, through both additional feed costs and ongoing daily herd management," he said.
The Dairygold chair said that the processor's advisory and technical teams "continue to be available to assess individual farm requirements, provide feed advice and to assist in fodder budgeting for the winter ahead".
"I'd encourage all farmers to reach out for support and advice," Clancy said.
Earlier today (Tuesday, August 18), Tirlán announced its milk price for July supplies, as well as an expanded support package for suppliers battling drought and fodder shortages.
On June 18, Tirlán announced a three-month milk price commitment covering milk supplied during June, July and August.
However, the board there has approved a "weather-related adjustment" of 1c/L to the milk price for all three of those months, including June.
