Dairygold has become the latest processor to announce its price for milk supplied in October.

The board of Dairygold has said it will pay a price of 31.75c/L, including VAT and quality and sustainability bonuses.

This price is held on the price offered last month for September milk.

Dairygold is the third of the major processors to set its price for October milk.

Last Tuesday (November 10), Glanbia became the first processor to set its milk price for October supplies, revealing an unchanged figure.

Glanbia will pay its member milk suppliers 31c/L including VAT for October creamery milk supplies at 3.6% butterfat and 3.3% protein.

Glanbia Ireland will pay a base milk price for October of 30.18c/L including VAT for creamery milk at 3.6% fat and 3.3% protein. This is unchanged from last month.

Farmer members will also receive a 0.42c/L including VAT payment from Glanbia Co-op on all milk supplied this month as their ‘Share of GI Profit’.

Two days later, on Thursday (November 12), Lakeland also revealed a held base price, as well as a lactose bonus.

In the Republic of Ireland, a base price of 32c/L including VAT will be paid for milk supplied to Lakeland in October. A lactose bonus of 0.28c/L applies this month.

Meanwhile, in Northern Ireland, a base price of 26.55p/L will be paid for October milk.

A Lakeland spokesperson noted: “As many countries have reintroduced Covid-19 restrictions, foodservice markets have again been challenged, following from a moderate improvement to date.”
