Dairygold has become the latest processor to reveal its milk price for the month of August.
In a statement today (Thursday, September 17), a spokesperson for the southern co-op said:
Dairygold maintains August quoted milk price unchanged at 30.69c/L, based on standard constituents of 3.3% protein and 3.6% butterfat, inclusive of bonuses and VAT.
“This equates to an average farm gate milk price of 35.06c/L based on average August milk solids, achieved by our suppliers, for all milk supplied to Dairygold,” the spokesperson said.
“Global market supplies are building once again and dairy market demand has eased over recent weeks. As is customary, the board will continue to review milk price on a month-by-month basis.”
Milk prices
Earlier today, it was revealed that Carbery Group has increased its milk price for the month of August in the latest of milk processor prices for last month’s supplies.
The board of the west Cork group has decided to increase the price by 0.5c/L for last month.
This means that Carbery Group suppliers will receive a price of 32.4c/L including VAT for August.
Carbery Group consists of the four west Cork co-ops – Bandon, Barryroe, Drinagh and Lisavaird.
A statement from the processor said: “Our Kerry Group base price for August milk supplies is 31c/L, VAT inclusive.
“Based on average August milk solids, the price return including VAT and bonuses is 35.06c/L,” a Kerry Group spokesperson added.
This represents an increase of 0.5c/L compared to last month’s price of 30.5c/L.
