Over €2.3 million has been paid out in farm schemes this week, according to the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM).

Referring to payments made under the Fuel Income Support Scheme, DAFM said €88,220 was paid out to farmers this week.

The scheme was introduced by the government as a targeted income support to assist farmers, agricultural contractors and fishers facing unprecedented increases in fuel costs.

Total payments to date have reached €25.4 million, with over 30,600 farmers receiving payments.

BISS

Over €118,000 was paid out under the 2025 Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) and Complimentary Redistributive Income Support for Sustainability (CRISS).

The total number of farmers who have received payments now stands at over 118,900, with total payments amounting to €845.5 million.

DAFM said the BISS/CRISS figure included the 2025 Complementary Income Support for Young Farmers of €38.3 million and the 2025 National Reserve of €3.1 million.

TAMS

The latest data published by the department shows that a further €1.53 million was paid out under Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Schemes (TAMS 3).

TAMS 3, which includes 11 sub-schemes, provides grants to farmers to build and/or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their farm holdings.

53,040 approvals have been issued to date under TAMS 3, with 23,660 payment applications being submitted.

A total of €187 million has now been paid out under the scheme with more than 20,600 payments issued.

Additional schemes

An additional €320,000 was paid to farmers in the Agri-Climate Rural Environment Scheme (ACRES).

As part of the 2025 Sheep Improvement Scheme, more than €224,900 in payments were issued to farmers this week.

Participants in the Organic Farming Scheme were paid out a total of €56,300 in funding.
