The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) has confirmed that 5,864 farmers applied for tranche 4 of the Targeted Agriculture Modernisation Schemes (TAMS 3).
This marks a 35% increase on the 3,802 applications made by farmers under tranche 3 of the scheme.
Some 9,110 applications were submitted under tranche 2, while 8,203 farmers applied under the initial round of TAMS 3.
TAMS
The data provided to Agriland shows that the Animal Welfare Nutrient Storage Scheme (AWNSS) was the most popular scheme in this latest tranche with 1,598 applications.
The Farm Safety Capital Investment Scheme (FSCIS) was the second most popular scheme in tranche 4 with 1,570 applications.
645 applications were made under the Solar Capital Investment Scheme (SCIS) and 637 for the Organic Capital Investment Scheme (OCIS).

Meanwhile, the latest statistics, published by the department, show that 2,480 out of 3,799 applications made under tranche 3 have been approved, 1,028 are in progress, 205 have been rejected and 86 withdrawn.
348 applications are still being processed out of the 9,110 applications submitted under tranche 2; 7,948 applications have been approved under this tranche to date.
Under 8,203 applications made as part of tranche 1 of TAMS 3, 7,238 have been approved and 100 are still deemed “in progress”.
The department has also confirmed that tranche 5 of TAMS 3 is now open for applications and will close on December 6.
