Key Teagasc ag-college open day dates coming up

Are you thinking of going to a Teagasc agricultural college in September?

If you are, a number of Teagasc colleges are hosting open days in the coming weeks.

At these open days, you’ll receive information on all further and higher level courses in agriculture, horticulture, horses and forestry.

Teagasc says that you’ll also receive an outline of careers in agriculture, agri-business, amenity and production horticulture, forestry, horse-breeding and training.

Career profiles of graduates will also be available for prospective students.

There will be guided tours of the teaching and recreational facilities at each college. Visits to the colleges’ modern farming and horticulture enterprises will also be provided.

If you’re thinking of attending an open day you’ll get the chance to talk to college teaching staff and educational experts as well as students currently attending.

Here’s a selection of some of the open days:

College of Amenity Horticulture

On Thursday, March 10, the College of Amenity Horticulture, Teagasc, National Botanic Gardens is having its open day.

Ballyhaise Agricultural College

Also on Thursday, March 10, Ballyhaise Agricultural College in Co. Cavan is hosting its open day.

Located on the outskirts of Ballyhaise, the open day is on between 10am and 1pm. The contact number is 049-4338108 if you want to contact the college.
