Ashbourne Meat Processors is one of Irelands leading beef processors, exporting premium chilled Irish beef all over Europe and indeed the world since 1985 from cattle sourced locally at our abattoir in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary.
The company was established by Jim McMahon and Danny Houlihan in 1985, so this year we celebrate 40 years in business.
The company still remains today managed and controlled by the Houlihan and McMahon families.
Our commitment over the past four decades has seen our business continue to expand, thanks to our dedicated expertise and knowledge passed down from one generation to the next.
With a deboning plant in Naas and slaughter plant in Roscrea, we are ideally located to source the best cattle Ireland has to offer.
To produce quality beef, we need top quality farmers producing top quality cattle on a weekly basis.
While we always keep in regular contact with our suppliers, it is great to have the opportunity of the Ploughing to meet them and have a burger and chat about current market conditions.
As part of the Angus Beef Ireland stand at the Ploughing, Ashbourne Meats will also be promoting Angus beef.
Through our interaction with suppliers though various carcass competitions, we also get to meet the entrants and work on promoting the suckler herd also.
We also enjoy seeing so many young people at the Ploughing, so we like to have a presence at the event in order to chat to people about a future career with Ashbourne Meats.
We also like to speak to people about how we are promoting sustainable beef production and the various initiatives we are involved in, including Animal Health Ireland; Meat Technology Ireland; and the Irish Cattle Breeders Federation (ICBF).
This year we are Origin Green Gold Members, which we are are delighted to showcase at the Ploughing.
The Ploughing is at the very heart of Irish agriculture, and we love to be here each year and meet the farmers who make it all tick.
Looking forward to seeing you so please drop in to our stand at Block 1 Row 9 Stand 194.
