Four ewes and four lambs have been reported as stolen from the Geashill area of Co. Offaly.
Gardaí has confirmed that they attended the scene following a report of the theft of livestock from a field in Ballymacrossan, Co. Offaly on June 5, 2026.
An Garda Síochana said that the investigation is ongoing.
This incident follows a number of sheep thefts across the country in recent weeks.
A farmer in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan, appealed for information about the alleged theft of 38 hoggets from his farm earlier this month.
The hoggets, a combination of Texal, Charollais, Blue Leicester and Suffolk cross breeds, are alleged to have been stolen last week.
The farmer told Agriland that he has notified local gardaí, who are investigating CCTV footage.
A garda spokesperson has confirmed that gardaí received a report of "the theft of livestock from a field in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan".
Gardai believe the theft to have taken place between 11:30a.m on Monday, June 1 and midday the following day.
In a separate incident, 11 pedigree rams that were reported stolen near Cootehill, Co. Cavan recently have been located in Oram, Co. Monaghan.
Details of the missing rams had been shared on social media.
The theft had taken place in the Tullyvin area. The rams had consisted of "six Charollais, four Texal, and one Lleyn" according to a Garda spokesperson.
Although the rams were located, their owner Frank McGovern is staying vigilant when it comes to the theft of livestock.
He said: "It's still an ongoing occurrence".
In relation to the theft of his rams, he said: "This was a two-person job, there was someone from this end with local knowledge that knew the rams were there and there had to be someone from the other end to find a field to put them in."
