The weather forecast, from Met Eireann, for this weekend is not good. While Friday was dry in most areas, outbreaks of rain in parts of west Connacht and Munster are expected. This will turn heavy or thundery rain in the late afternoon and will spread over Munster with strong, gusty east to southeast winds and a risk of spot flooding.

Friday night will see the heavy and thundery rain continue and spread northwards, with lowest temperatures of 6 to 8 degrees with fresh to strong east to southeast winds, strongest in coastal areas.

Saturday won’t be much better, with the heavy or thundery showers forecast by Met Eireann in most areas through the day with a risk of spot flooding. The best of the weather will be in the north and highest temperatures will be in the region of 14 degrees. Saturday night will see continued spells of rain.

As the weekend progresses, Sunday will see further rain in the east and south, although it won’t be as heavy as Saturday. Temperatures won’t be as low as Saturday and Sunday night will be dry for most of the country.

Early next week will start off bright, with sunny spells on Monday and the outlook for next week is a cooler week.
