Weekend weather: Mostly dry, warm and settled

There is "mostly dry weather" expected for the weekend according to the latest outlook from Met Éireann.

Today (Friday, May 16) is forecast to be dry with "plenty of sunshine" and light easterly or variable breezes.

The temperature will range between 17°  to 24° and according to the national meteorological service it will be warmest across the midlands, west and southwest.

Overnight it is expected to be dry and clear although there could be isolated mist patches.

"Lowest temperatures of 4°  to 9° generally in light northeasterly or variable breezes," Met Éireann added.

Tomorrow (Saturday, May 17) is also expected to be dry and the forecast is for "plenty of sunshine".

"Highest temperatures of 17° along eastern fringes to 24°  or 25° in the west, all in light to moderate easterly or variable breezes," according to the national meteorological service.

By nightfall it will will remain dry and mostly clear however there could also be a few mist and fog patches and temperatures are likely to drop to between 5°  to 10° "in light easterly or variable breezes".

On Sunday (May 18) the good spell of dry weather will continue accompanied by sunshine.

Temperatures in some of parts of the country will range from 17°  to 24°  or 25° Met Éireann has forecast.By Sunday night it will remain mostly dry and clear but temperatures will fall to between 5°  to 10° in light easterly or variable breezes.

The current weather trend is expected to continue through to Monday with the national meteorological service forecasting mostly dry conditions "with good sunny spells though with a chance of some showers developing".

It expects highest temperatures of 16°  to 23° in light to moderate easterly breezes.

However looking ahead to Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday is slightly more mixed but overall good.

"Indications are the days will be largely dry with good sunny spells though a few showers are possible.

"Temperatures widely reaching the mid-teens to low twenties," Met Éireann added.
