This week will see periods of dry weather for the first few days, but it will gradually turn more unsettled as the days progress, according to Met Éireann.
It will start a little chilly this morning (Monday, March 24), but it will be largely dry today with good sunny spells developing. Some cloud will drift into western counties later this afternoon, turning the sun a little hazy.
It will stay dry, with highest temperatures of 11° to 14°, in light winds.
More cloud will push in across the country this evening with some patchy light rain across Connacht and Ulster, gradually spreading further east later in the night. Lowest overnight temperatures will be 4° to 8°.
Tomorrow (Tuesday, March 25) will be cloudy with patchy light rain or drizzle. It will gradually brighten up, with dry and sunny conditions developing through the afternoon. Highest temperatures will be 11° to 14° in light northerly breezes.
Tomorrow night is set to be cold and dry, with long clear spells at first but cloud will build from the west by morning. Patches of mist and fog will form in light southwest or variable breezes. Lowest temperatures should be around 1° to 4°.
Mist and fog will slowly clear on Wednesday morning (March 26) and, after a dry start, cloud and patchy drizzle will spread from the west. More persistent rain will move into the northwest later in the day.
Highest temperatures on Wednesday are expected to be 11° to 14° in light to moderate southwesterly winds.
Wednesday will see a cloudy evening and night, but it will be mostly dry, with just light patchy rain drifting in across western and northern counties for a time. Lowest temperatures will range from 5° to 9°, with light winds.
Thursday (March 27) is set to be cloudy overall, with outbreaks of rain mainly for western and northern areas with the best chance of any dry weather further east. Westerly breezes will persist with highest temperatures of 10° to 13°.
Met Éireann said that current indications for Friday (March 28) are for an unsettled day with outbreaks of rain which may be heavy at times, and some blustery westerly winds too. Highest temperatures are expected to be around 10° to 13°.
