Gardaí in north Co. Dublin have arrested two individuals caught packaging a substantial quantity of drugs in a disused agricultural area.

Following ongoing investigations into the sale and supply of illegal drugs in the Lusk area, gardaí arrested both individuals who they stated were "caught in the act of packaging" the cannabis in what the gardaí described was a "disused agricultural area".

The estimated value of the seized drugs is €2,400, pending forensic analysis.

Gardaí stated this successful operation highlights the importance of community support in tackling criminal activity.

"We appreciate the continued cooperation of local residents in making our community safer," gardaí added.

Gardaí have asked those with any information about drug-related activity or anti-social behaviour in north county Dublin to reach out to Lusk Garda Station.

Meanwhile, gardaí in Co. Clare stopped drivers of vehicles today who did not have a licence.

The roads policing unit stopped these vehicles in Sixmilebridge, and neither driver had a licence to drive their vehicle.

The car driver had none at all, and the truck driver only had a car licence, gardaí confirmed.

An Garda Síochána Clare appealed to the public to "please make sure before driving that your licence is in date and covers the vehicle".

Gardaí confirmed that both these drivers had their vehicles seized and will be going to court.
