The EU and US have signed an agreement reviewing the functioning of an existing quota to import hormone-free beef into the EU.
The volume US beef imports into the US during the first three months of the year has dropped considerably.
The US Department of Agriculture has predicted US beef imports will drop 16% this year, resulting in their lowest level in 11 years.
