Tillage
A Laois TD has said a decline in area of land dedicated to tillage production highlights the need for "continued support" for tillage farmers.
The Department of Agriculture has published preliminary crop area figures for 2020. These figures come from BPS applications.
Provisional estimates from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) show that the area under cereals in this country has dropped by 6.4%.
