A proposal to allow farmers to spread slurry using a splash plate on hilly ground has been welcomed by the Irish Farmers' Association (IFA).
The IFA has said that it is working on possible solutions to the use of low emission slurry spreading (LESS) for low stocked farmers.

A petition signed by 450 farmers in Tipperary calling for the splash plate ban to be deferred has been presented to Minister Martin Heydon.
