The Irish Cattle Breeding Federation (ICBF) is understood to be planning to release a weanling price trait index in the coming months.
The ICBF has confirmed that the next genetic evaluation will be published at the later date of September 2025.
With much debate surrounding changes to the beef breeding index, the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine has said he is "making sure" that farmers in SCEP do not "lose out financially" due to the changes.
