The Strokestown Agricultural and Industrial Show has warned of scam emails and fake vendor application forms using the event’s name.

Representatives of the event, which returns to the grounds of Strokestown Park, Co. Roscommon, in September, issued a statement on the matter.

It said: “We have been made aware of a fraudulent email and fake vendor application form currently being circulated using the Strokestown Show name.

“The email is being sent from [email protected] and directs recipients to a tally form inviting applications for vendor spaces at Strokestown Show.

The statement urged recipients of this email to refrain from completing the form, issuing any payment, or replying to the email.

It also asked recipients to report the email as phishing and then to delete it.

The statement advised anyone who has completed the form or made the payment to contact Strokestown Show through official channels “as soon as possible”.

Celebrating its 158th show, Strokestown Agricultural and Industrial Show will take place on September 12, 2026.

According to the event’s website, the show brings together generations of exhibitors, families and visitors for one of “Roscommon’s great annual traditions”.

Strokestown Agricultural and Industrial Show promises an “extensive” programme of cattle, sheep, horse, and dog classes, alongside trade stands, vintage displays, arts and crafts, children’s entertainment and more.

The event’s food fair will host live cookery demonstrations throughout the day, while live music and entertainment will add to the atmosphere across the showgrounds.

Categories for the show’s competitions include cattle; sheep; farm and garden produce; cookery; handcrafts; art and photography; horses and dogs.

First prize in the show’s raffle is a Charolais/Belgian Blue-cross heifer, or €1,200 cash.

The raffle’s runner-up will receive a two-night stay for two people in Kilronan Castle or Lough Rynn Castle.
