Several farmers are included in the latest list of tax defaulters which has been published today (Tuesday, March 11) by Revenue.
The list, which is in two parts, covers the period from October 1 to December 31, 2024.
Part 1 of the list covers people in whose case the court has determined a penalty relating to a settlement, or has imposed a fine, imprisonment or other penalty in respect of a tax or duty offence.
Part 2 of the list refers to people in whose case Revenue has accepted a settlement offer instead of initiating court proceedings, or a settlement has been paid in full.
28 cases are published in this section with a total settlement amount of €6.9 million. 17 of the cases were for settlements of between €101,000 and €500,000.
The second part of the list shows that Enda Forde, a farmer and PAYE employee from Corrafaireen, Ballyglunin, Tuam, Co. Galway, reached a settlement with Revenue of €254,882.
It was noted by Revenue that as of December 31, €241,255 was unpaid in the audit case for non-declaration of income tax and VAT.
Patrick Healy, who is listed as a farmer from 29 Butterfield Avenue, Rathfarnham, Co. Dublin, made a settlement of €274,443 with Revenue in an audit case for under-declaration of Capital Acquisition Tax (CAT).
The latest list also shows that Albert Treacy, a farmer, landlord and partner from Donaguile, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny made a settlement of €132,605 for under-declaration of income tax.
John McLoughlin, a farmer from Phoenixtown, Ardbracken, Navan, Co. Meath, was fined €1,250 for failure to lodge income tax returns.
Revenue said that Jason Austin, a farmer from Townfields, Cloughjordan, Co. Tipperary was fined €15,000 for misuse of marked mineral oil (green diesel).
The list shows that Sean Carroll, a farmer from Erris, Boyle, Co. Roscommon was fined €2,500 for the same offence.
In total, today's list includes 10 cases of misuse of marked mineral oil.
