Scheme payments worth €2.6m issued to farmers

Over €2.6 million in outstanding scheme payments have been issued by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) over the past week.

Farmers received a total of €1.58 million in 2023 Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) and Complimentary Redistributive Income Support for Sustainability (CRISS) payments.

In total, 119,498 farmers have now received BISS and CRISS payments totalling €822 million, according to DAFM figures published today (Friday, March 15).

This figure includes the 2023 Complementary Income Support for Young Farmers payments (€29.4 million), as well as the 2023 National Reserve (€4.2 million) payments.

Scheme payments

Outstanding Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Schemes (TAMS) payments worth €739,866 were paid by the DAFM to farmers over the past seven days.

Farmers also received a total of €230,000 in the DAFM’s latest weekly payment run for the 2022 Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC) and Areas of Specific Constraint (ASC) schemes.

Just over €123,953 has been paid to farmers in the Organic Farming Scheme (OFS) this week. In total, 3,829 farmers have now received a total of €39.2 million for the 2023 OFS.

A total of €10,000 was also issued by the DAFM in outstanding payments to farmers under the Green, Low-carbon, Agri-Environment Scheme (GLAS) over the past seven days.

GLAS was replaced by the new €1.5 billion Agri Climate Rural Environment Scheme (ACRES) under the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) 2023-2027.

No payments were issued under the 2023 Eco Scheme, the Suckler Carbon Efficiency Programme (SCEP), the Shannon Callows Flood Scheme, or the Protein Aid Scheme 2023 this week.
