The Senior Nutrition Specialist is responsible for managing and developing the Keenan Intouch Technology Service to a large and expanding customer base in key markets.

Keenan Intouch is a live analysis and support service with highly trained nutrition specialists using simple technology to ensure Keenan customers continue to improve their dairy and beef herd performance by receiving live information via the Intouch service.

Role responsibilities include developing and managing the Keenan Feeding Technology process on farm by providing ongoing support strategies to improve animal performance, feed efficiency and farm profitability.

Maintaining good customer relations and assisting in the training of relevant employees in the areas of Nutrition, Customer Service and Communication.

A Masters/PhD in Animal Science is desirable and five or more years livestock farm or advisory experience in animal feed and nutrition is a requirement.

Livestock and Meat Commission (LMC) NI Chair and Board Members

The LMC is looking to appoint an independent LMC Chair from November 7 2015 and Board Members from July 1, 2015.

Successful candidates will bring a balance of experience of the livestock production industry, the livestock processing industry, marketing and public relations.

A minimum of three years experience of the livestock production industry or livestock processing industry or minimum of three years experience of marketing or public relations, is required.

The time commitment for the LMC Chair is normally about four days per month and remuneration is £17,315 per year. Also the chair must not have had any commercial interests in the production of livestock or processing livestock products since April 1, 2015.

To apply for the Board Members jobs there is the same requirements of the Chair along with strategic thinking and experience of contributing to the future direction of an organisation.

The time commitment for the LMC Board Members is about 30 days per year (two to three days per month) and remuneration is £6,485 per year.

Livestock Inspector

The Irish Angus Producer Group seeks to recruit a part-time livestock inspector in the meat plants of its processor partners, ABP and Kepak, located in the Meath/Monaghan area.

Responsibilities include liaising with members and assisting farmer members on the day of slaughter

Essential Requirements for the position include an excellent knowledge of livestock, computer literate and willingness to work on initiative.

Dairy Farm Management Positions

There are several job opportunities on a large dairy farm near Brandenburg in Germany.

The farm has a land bank of 1,500 acres and through a combination of both confinement and grazing systems, it is planned to milk approximately 1,000 cows.

Applications for the position of Farm Manager and two Assistant Managers for its current 500-cow Holstein herd (all year round calving, confinement) and its 150 JerseyX spring calving grazing herd are now being accepted.

Requirements for the role include a recognised and relevant third level qualification.

Primary responsibilities include planning, organising and managing farm activities in order to meet objectives.

Ensuring that farm activities comply with regulations and standards and rearing replacement animals for both herds are also responsibilities.

An agricultural background and solid grounding in farming is essential and an appreciation for the highest standards of animal welfare, hygiene and health and safety are required.
