A man in his 70s has died on a farm-related incident in the Dundrum Road area of Tassagh, Co. Armagh on Tuesday evening, May 13.
The PSNI attended the scene alongside colleagues from other emergency services.
According to the PSNI, the death is not being treated as suspicious at this time and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed.
The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) has confirmed that it received a 999 call at 19:12 on Tuesday, May 13, following reports of an incident on the Dundrum Road area, Armagh.
NIAS dispatched one emergency ambulance and a rapid response paramedic to the scene.
In a statement, the NIAS said that no one was taken from the scene.
This is the second farm tragedy recorded by authorities on the island this week.
In a separate incident, a man died following a farm accident in the Tahilla area, Sneem, Co. Kerry between Monday, May 12, and Tuesday May 13.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene, where a man in his 60s was pronounced dead.
His body has since been removed to hospital for a post-mortem examination. The coroner for Kerry has been notified and a file will be prepared for the coroner’s court.
A Garda spokesperson told Agriland that the Health and Safety Authority was notified and are investigating the matter.
The spokesperson said: “As An Garda Síochána is not the leading agency in this investigation, no further information is available.”
The HSA also confirmed that it was aware of the incident and has launched an investigation. As such, no further information is available.
In a separate incident, last month (April 30), Gardaí confirmed that a man died following an incident on a farm in Co. Tipperary.
It is understood that the incident took place around 11:30a.m in the Ardfinnan area in the south of the county.
Emergency services were called to the farm, with the man being later pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána told Agriland: “Gardaí are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the death of a man on a farm at Ardfinnan, Co. Tipperary, at approximately 11:30am on Tuesday, April 29, 2025”.
“The man, aged in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
