Gardaí have confirmed that a man has died following an incident on a farm in Co. Tipperary yesterday morning (Tuesday, April 29).
It is understood that the incident took place around 11:30a.m in the Ardfinnan area in the south of the county.
Emergency services were called to the farm, with the man being later pronounced dead at the scene.
In a statement, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána told Agriland: "Gardaí are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the death of a man on a farm at Ardfinnan, Co. Tipperary, at approximately 11:30am on Tuesday, April 29, 2025".
"The man, aged in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
"His body has been removed to University Hospital Waterford for a post-mortem examination, the results of which will determine the course of the Garda investigation.
"The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) was notified and attended the scene.
"The County Coroner has been notified and a file will be prepared for the Coroner’s Court," the spokesperson added.
Gardaí said that investigations into the incident are ongoing.
The HSA also confirmed to Agriland that it is aware of the incident and has launched an investigation.
Earlier this month, gardaí confirmed that a teenager had died following a road traffic collision involving a tractor in Co. Leitrim.
The fatal single-vehicle road traffic collision, which took place on Tuesday, April 15, happened at Aghavilla, Carrigallen at approximately 3:10p.m.
A male passenger of the tractor, aged in his late teens, was later pronounced deceased at the scene.
The male driver of the tractor, aged in his late teens, was conveyed to Cavan General Hospital for treatment of injuries believed to be non-life-threatening.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.
