The Irish Angus Cattle Society will be hosting its 13th annual ‘Elite Sale’ this Saturday (December 12) beginning at 12:00pm in the showgrounds in Carrick on Shannon, Co. Roscommon.

The sale will be composed of 63 pedigree bulls alongside 34 pedigree heifers. All entries are export tested, sire verified, bovine viral diarrhea (BVD) negative, myostatin tested and pre-sale inspected.

Commenting on the upcoming sale, Irish Angus Cattle Society president Padraig O’Connor stated:

This upcoming sale has the potential to be one of the best exhibits of Angus cattle in recent times. The standard and quality of cattle on offer is going to be very high.

“In what has been a tough year for everyone, we are hoping that potential customers will abide by the Covid-19 health guidelines and protocols and be able to purchase their animals with comfort.

“With the market demands at the minute, Angus cattle have been proving their worth. This is simply because most processors are looking for as many Angus steers and heifers that they can get their hands on.”

This year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the sale will be run in accordance with government and Health Service Executive (HSE) guidelines to ensure the health and safety of the public.

This unfortunately means there will be no usual pre-show of animals, which would have taken place in previous years.
