Gardaí have confirmed that a woman has died following a road traffic collision involving a tractor and a bicycle this afternoon (Saturday, May 24) in Co Clare.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at Toonagh, Tulla following reports of the collision which occurred on the L3180 at approximately 12:45p.m.
The cyclist, a woman who was aged her 70s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Her body has since been removed to the mortuary at University Hospital Limerick where a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.
Gardaí said that there were no other injuries reported at the time.
The road is currently closed for technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
In a statement, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said that investigating officers are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to come forward.
"Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 12:00p.m-1:00p.m today, Saturday, May 24, 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Ennis Garda Station on (065) 684 8100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.
"Investigations are ongoing," the garda spokesperson added.
