Gardaí: Pedestrian dies in collision involving tractor in Co. Clare

Gardaí in Co. Clare are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision involving a pedestrian and a tractor on the L7006 at Kilmurry, Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare this morning, Saturday, June 21, 2025.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to the collision, that occured shortly after 10:15a.m.

The pedestrian, a middle aged man in his 60s, was pronunced deceased at the scene. His body has been conveyed to University Hospital Limerick.

According to a Garda spokesperson, the coroner has been informed, and a post-mortem examination will take place in due course.

"The road is currently closed for technical examination by Garda forensic collison investigators to take place," the spokesperson said.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage, including dash cam footage, and were travelling in the area between 10:00am and 10:15a.m this morning are asked to make the footage available to investigating Gardaí.

The garda spokesperson said that the investigation is ongoing.

Separately, earlier this month, a woman aged in her 60s died following a workplace incident that is understood to have occurred on a farm in Co. Kerry.

The fatal incident occurred on Tuesday, June 17 at around 5:00p.m, in the area of Bonane, near Kenmare, and close the border with Co. Cork.

The woman was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency personnel. An examination of the scene was carried out.

The coroner for Co. Kerry has been informed of the incident, and a file is set to be prepared for the Coroner’s Court.

The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) is aware of the incident and is investigating.

A statement to Agriland from the Gardaí said: “Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a work-related incident that occurred in Bonane, Kenmare, Co. Kerry on Tuesday (June 17)…at approximately 5:00p.m."
