An Garda Síochana is currently investigating the suspected theft of a cattle trailer from a farmyard in Co. Longford.
The Tuff cattle trailer is believed to have been stolen from a farmyard at Kilglass, Legan, Co. Longford between 6pm on Wednesday (June 25) and 1.30pm on Thursday (June 26).
The owner of the trailer, who did not want to be identified, told Agriland that once he realised that it was missing he went to his local shop in the village of Legan to find out if the suspected theft of the trailer had been captured on CCTV.
He also checked with a farmer on the opposite side of the road to his farmyard who has CCTV but to date neither sources have pointed the owner in the direction of their missing trailer.
The farm yard from where the cattle trailer was stolen is "about 20 minutes" from the owner's home place near Legan.
