The Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI) has issued a recall of all Dunlavin Dairy products “as they were produced in an unapproved establishment”, the authority says.

Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated products, it was noted.

In a statement today (Wednesday, November 11) the FSAI said: “All Dunlavin Dairy products including those bearing approval number IE 1989 EC or raw milk registration number RM02 as the establishment is no longer approved.”

All batch codes and use-by dates are affected by the recall. The country of origin is Ireland.

In terms of action required for inspectors, the authority said that environmental health officers (EHOs) “are requested as part of their routine checks to verify that the implicated products are recalled from sale”.

There is no distribution list available, it was added.

For manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, caterers and retailers, the authority said:

Retailers are requested to remove the implicated products from sale and to display a point-of-sale recall notice in stores where the affected products were sold.

The authority added that “caterers should not use the implicated products and consumers are advised not to eat the implicated products”.

5 closure orders served in October

In other FSAI news, five closure orders were served on food businesses by the authority during the month of October.

The orders were served for breaches of food safety legislation, pursuant to the FSAI Act, 1998, the authority says.

The enforcement orders were issued by environmental health officers in the Health Service Executive (HSE).
