As part of the 'day in the life' of a vet series, MSD Animal Health followed veterinary practitioner Conor Geraghty from FarmGate Veterinary Group, which is a member of XLVets Ireland since 2014.
The day was filled with many procedures typical for the time of year on farms - from treating a cow with an allergic reaction, to pre-breeding scanning of a dairy herd, to fertility testing a bull, to hoof-pairing some lames cows. Even a nail stuck in a horse’s hoof had to be addressed.

The day in the life of a vet series with XLVets Ireland in conjunction with MSD Animal Health ran from the during the last week in April and first week in May, where over the course of four days days, they shadowed a different vet and their team to chronical a day in the life of a vet live on Instagram.
Viewers of the series got the opportunity to follow a vet for the whole day to get an insight into just what a typical day looks like for a vet in practice.
They also got the opportunity to learn about the vet’s practice, be introduced to the team and learn about different disease threats to watch out for at this time of year.
