The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine issued over €10.5 million to farmers in payments across a range of schemes last week.
The latest data, published by the department, shows that €4.7 million was paid out for scheme year one of the Common Agricultural Policy Strategic Plan (CSP) Dairy Beef Welfare Scheme.
7,612 dairy farmers were issued with payments under the scheme which provides support to improve the animal health and welfare of the national herd by using better genetic merit beef sires.
The department also issued a further €2.6 million to farmers under the 2024 Eco Scheme.
Up to last Friday (March 21), 117,498 farmers have now received a total of €306 million in payments under the measure.
The latest data shows that €1.7 million was paid out under the new Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS 3) last week, while a further €183,000 was issued under TAMS 2.
Over €53.1 million has now been paid out to date under TAMS 3 across 6,042 claims.
24,150 applications for the scheme have been approved by the department with 7,822 payment applications submitted.
Almost €1 million was issued to farmers under the 2024 BISS and and Complimentary Redistributive Income Support for Sustainability (CRISS).
119,114 farmers have now received a total of €841 million in payments under these measures.
The department noted that this figure includes the 2024 Complementary Income Support for Young Farmers of €36.1 million and the 2024 National Reserve of €3.1 million.
Last week, €169,000 was paid out to farmers for the Baling Assistance Payment (BAP), almost €50,000 under the Straw Incorporation Measure (SIM) and €2,000 for the Multi Species Sward (MSS) Scheme.
An additional €54,000 was also paid out under the Organic Farming Scheme (OFS), bringing the total issued for the 2024 scheme to €48.2 million across 4,692 farmers.
