The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) issued nearly €11.5 million in scheme payments to farmers last week.
Around half of the payments made in the week up to December 20 related to the 2024 Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) and Complimentary Redistributive Income Support for Sustainability (CRISS).
The latest data, published by the department, shows that some €6.3 million was issued to farmers under BISS and CRISS last week.
To date, 117,722 farmers have received a total of €826.5 million under the schemes, which includes the 2024 Complementary Income Support for Young Farmers (€33 million) and the 2024 National Reserve of (€2.5 million).

The latest data also shows that the department paid out €2.1 million in Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Schemes (TAMS) payments last week.
€1.9 million of that figure related to TAMS 3, bringing the total paid out under the latest version of the scheme to €33.8 million, which is spread across 3,770 payments.
€442,000 was also paid out by the department last week for the 2024 Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC) and Areas of Specific Constraint (ASC).
While an additional €1.9 million was allocated to famers in the Organic Farming Scheme (OFS). 4,468 farmers have now received a total of €43.6 million in OFS payments this year.
A further €672,872 was issued to farmers in the 2024 Sheep Welfare Scheme, meaning that over 16,100 participants have now received €15 million, in total.
An additional €7,000 was made to farmers who participated in the Green, Low-carbon, Agri-Environment Scheme (GLAS).
Smaller payments were also issued for the Tillage Incentive Scheme (TIS) 2024 (€854) and the Shannon Callows Flood Scheme (€435).
