The number of imported used tractors licensed for the first time rose by 16% in March 2024, the Central Statistics Office (CSO) has revealed.

Last month, a total of 219 used (imported) tractors were licensed, which was a significant increase from the 189 licensed in February.

The data published today (Wednesday, April 10) shows that 198 new tractors were licensed in March.

That figure is down from the 209 used tractors which were registered for the first time in March 2023.

The CSO noted that registered vehicles which are not used in a public place (e.g. tractors for use exclusively on the land) “may not need to be licensed”.
