Bord na Móna has announced that Mike Quinn has been appointed as the new Managing Director of the company.
Welcoming the appointment, Chairman of Bord na Móna, Mr John Horgan said the Board is delighted to welcome someone of Mike Quinn’s calibre to the company as he brings with him a wealth of domestic and international leadership and business experience,gained across a number of different industries.
“I have every confidence that Mike will successfully lead the company and drive it’s growth and development strategy in the months and years ahead,” he said.
Mike Quinn joins Bord na Móna from Precision Castparts (PCC), where he has worked for the last 10 years as Vice President of a worldwide group of 5 companies. Prior to joining PCC Quinn held various senior management positions in Tellabs, Stryker and Lufthansa Tecknik. He spent the earlier part of his career working in engineering roles with Amdahl Ireland and Apple Computers.
Quinn holds a degree in Physics and Electronics from DCU and a postgraduate qualification in Project Management from UL. He also studied advanced Leadership programmes at both Cranfield University and the Ross school of Business in the University of Michigan.
The new Managing Director will take up his appointment on the January 2 2015.
