Bord Bia is encouraging farmers attending this year's Tullamore Show on Saturday, August 9 to visit the Sustainable Livestock Village.

Here they can learn more about the market importance of sustainable, Quality Assured farming, and access practical support to help future-proof their farms.

Now in its fourth year, the Sustainable Livestock Village brings together organisations from across the Irish agriculture sector to provide farmers with practical advice and information on sustainable livestock farming.

Ahead of the event, Joe Burke, senior manager of Meat and Livestock at Bord Bia, said: "Bord Bia is proud to support the Sustainable Livestock Village at the Tullamore Show once again.

"There is plenty of expertise, research, and practical support available.

"The Sustainable Livestock Village is a great opportunity for farmers to access the tools and supports available to help strengthen both their environmental and economic sustainability."

Bord Bia staff will be available throughout the day to answer questions on Quality Assurance, sustainability, and export markets and to discuss how sustainable farming practices continue to strengthen Ireland's reputation in global markets.

Bord Bia staff will also be joined by colleagues from Teagasc and ICBF to demonstrate AgNav, Ireland's free farm sustainability support tool.

Farmers who have not yet signed up can register on the day and learn how AgNav can help assess their farm's carbon emissions, benchmark performance and identify practical actions to improve efficiency and sustainability.
