With Spring cultivation season is now well underway, Amazone has wasted no time launching a new harrow.
The Amazone Cenius Ultra is its latest model of mounted cultivator, which comes in working widths of 3m and 3.5m.
The main feature according to Amazone is the C-Mix Ultra tine which comes with automatic overload protection via a hydraulic cylinder.
This is considered a robust tine system, offering a high level of reliability and durability, especially under intensive operating conditions.
The C-Mix ultra tines are said to come into their own in variable soil conditions. The release force can be infinitely adjusted between 500kg and 800kg to ensure optimum adaptation to differing soil types.
The upper limit suggests that farmers with heavier soils or compaction are the customer base for this implement, although no manufacturer wants to limit the scope of its products to any great extent.
At the lower setting of 500kg, the tines can move upwards quicker on light soils with large stones, protecting the frame of the mounted cultivator from excessive loads, and allowing any stones to remain under the surface.
The generous lift height of the individual tines mean that the machine can maintain the desired working depth up to 35cm even under challenging conditions.
Stepless adjustment of the system is said to be easily and conveniently carried out from the front, at the headstock. The pressure gauge is also located at this point, and is easily visible from the tractor cab for convenient monitoring.
The Ultra overload protection system consists of individual hydraulic cylinders fitted to the tines, along with central hydraulic accumulators providing a highly damped resetting of the C-Mix Ultra tine to the neutral position after triggering.
This will significantly reduce any wear and tear on the overload protection system, even if it is regularly triggered.
There is a wide choice of shares available due to the tines being designed to accommodate the C-Mix share system, enabling a wide range of points to be chosen from.
