Almost 700 TAMS tranche 8 applications to be processed

Nearly 700 applications made by farmers under tranche 8 of the Targeted Agriculture Modernisation Schemes (TAMS 3) are still to be processed.

The latest data, published by the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM), shows that 4,297 (80%) of the 5,364 applications made in this round have secured approval.

697 applications are still being considered by department officials, while 283 were rejected and a further 87 withdrawn.

TAMS 3 provides grants to farmers to build and/or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their holding.

The following table provides an update on the status of tranche 8 applications across the various TAMS schemes:

The data shows that all tranche 8 applications for the Low Emission Slurry Spreading (LESS) Scheme and Tillage Capital Investment Scheme (TCIS) have been processed.

DAFM also confirmed that 4,325 approvals have been issued under tranche 6 of TAMS 3.

142 out of the total 4,930 applications made in this tranche are yet to be fully processed, 324 have been rejected, and 139 were withdrawn.

Meanwhile, 45 applications are in progress tranche 7, under which 1,867 applications have been given the green light, 216 rejected, and 53 withdrawn.
