As we look forward to our second year in business, we’re delighted at Agriland to launch a complete redesign of our website.
Based around a huge amount of feedback from our readers, on how they consume their news on mobile, ipad and desktop devices, the new Agriland site is designed to reflect this feedback and will provide readers with a raft of new features.
It’s been a phenomenal 21 months for Agriland as we’ve grown from a standing start to become Ireland’s largest digital publisher in the agricultural sector by quite some margin.
Our mission continues to remain the largest and best digital news portal for the agricultural sector in Ireland, at a time when the industry is experiencing rapid and unprecedented change.
We aim to not only inform, through quality journalism, but to also give opinionated views on developments taking place within the agri-food sectors both at home and abroad. As we are not directly affiliated or influenced by any political or trade organisation we are uniquely positioned to do so.
The level of growth in traffic to our desktop, tablet and mobile offerings means we are continuously looking to improve our products.
Since its launch last September, thousands of people have been downloading the Agriland app and its popularity among the agricultural community has seen it frequently rank as one of the most popular downloads on the itunes and android app store.
Far from resting on our laurels, we will be pushing out further upgrades over the coming days and weeks to the portal and app as we strive to make further improvements to our readers experience.
The new site has been designed to improve the users experience from the moment they land on the site and the new site aims to make it easier for users to discover more relevant and interesting content.
The responsive design of the site ensures that no matter what device you are on, the site will provide an optimised user experience, be it on Desktop, Laptop, Tablets or Mobile devices.
The new site will offer our readers enhanced viewing options, more targeted and relevant content and an updated dedicated grass section including all the latest grass news and advice.
This new site will provide a stable platform for us to expand new offerings to our users over the coming months.
Speaking about the upgrade, Cormac Farrelly, Managing Director said “the development team have been working for the last number of months on this upgrade and we hope to push out many more minor upgrades in the near future to further enhance readers’ experience, regardless of the platform they are using”.
“We are also quite close to another major announcement on what I would describe as a really game changing service for the agricultural sector which we are putting the finishing touches to at present.
“Two years ago, people suggested to me ‘that farmers wouldn’t do digital’ with other agricultural publishers recently suggesting that there was “slower migration to digital among the farming community.”
The growth in traffic to Agriland by the farming community in Ireland since its launch is a clear indication that the team here in Agriland is delivering exactly what the Irish agricultural sector needed and wants.
We’d like to thank each and every reader for their ongoing support.
We hope you like our new look and new features and hope the change didn’t cause too many disruptions!
