The event will kick off at 7:00p.m. on the farm of Nigel Donaldson and his family located in Annyalla, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan (Eircode: A75 PR99).
Nigel is a dairy and suckler farmer, farming with the help of his three sons.
The land blocks on the farm are fragmented and there are approximately 40 dairy cows and 20 suckler cows on the farm. All beef progeny on the farm are taken through to beef and replacements are produced on the farm also.
The farm is involved in ABP Food Group's Advantage Beef Programme and is also an Irish Hereford Prime producer.
Hereford genetics feature strongly on the farm and form a key part of the suckler enterprise on-farm also.
Speaking to Agriland ahead of the event, ABP's farm liaison officer Sean Cassidy explained some of the key aspects that will be discussed at the event.
He said: "We will be looking into the herd itself, the genetics used on farm and the impact this is having on the Commercial Beef Value (CBV) of the calves produced."
"We will be hearing the latest updates on the Irish Hereford Prime breed bonus restructuring as well as how the progeny produced on the farm qualify for the Advantage Beef Programme's sustainability bonus."
As well as this, there will be discussion and advice on best practice when rearing calves and management advice and tips for both dairy-beef and suckler farmers.
Grassland reseeding and water quality will also be discussed with opportunities for farmers to get their questions on reseeding and other topics answered at the event.
There will be speakers from the Irish Cattle Breeding Federation (ICBF), Animal Health Ireland (AHI), and Bord Bia present.
The event is supported by SuperValu and there will be Signature Tastes Hereford Prime burgers served to all in attendance.
