Francess McDonnell is joined by Alison McHugh, tax partner with EY Ireland, to look at the measures unveiled by the Minister for Finance in his first budget.

Minister Jack Chambers acknowledged that “agriculture and the agri-food sector is of vital importance in our economy” in Budget 2025.

The minister confirmed the extension to the end of 2027 of the General Stock Relief, Stock Relief for Young Trained Farmers and Stock Relief for Registered Farm Partnerships.

Minister Chambers also amended both the Young Trained Farmer Stamp Duty Relief and the Stamp Duty relief which applies to farmers who lease land.

On the podcast we discuss how these changes and other measures confirmed in Budget 2025 could impact on farm families and whether they will have more money in their pockets after today’s budget announcement.
