Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow wind warning for all but three counties, in addition to the snow and ice warning already issued.
The new warning was issued at 3:00pm today (Wednesday, February 10) and will cover all counties in Munster, Leinster and Connacht.
The warning comes into effect at 8:00am tomorrow morning and will remain in place for 24 hours, up to 8:00am Friday morning.
The warning will coincide with a Status Yellow snow and ice warning for the same areas.
This warning was issued at 10:00am yesterday morning and, like this new wind warning, comes into effect at 8:00am tomorrow morning, remaining in place for 24 hours.
The national forecaster is predicting a band of sleet and snow will spread northeastwards during Thursday, resulting in snow accumulations of up to 5cm in some areas, though these accumulations may be higher over mountains.
A further Status Yellow snow and ice warning was issued late this afternoon for this evening, covering counties Dublin, Louth, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan.
That warning is currently in effect and is due to lift at 8:00pm this evening. It was issued at 4:43pm this afternoon.
Scattered hail or snow showers will effect those counties this evening, with some accumulations in places and icy stretches on untreated surfaces.
