The chaotic conditions and substantial snow of last week proved to be a severe challenge for everyone – with the country practically shut down during the latter part of last week.
However, this did not stop one wedding from taking place last Friday (March 2) in Co. Wexford – with a little help from a local contractor.
Using a trusty JCB 3CX backhoe digger and a New Holland T7.210 tractor, provided courtesy of Dan Nolan Plant Hire, paths were cut through the thick blanket of snow through to the church in Enniscorthy for the bride and groom, Donna and Sebastian Kearney.
Photographer Darren Byrne captured the machinery cutting through the drifts to ensure the bride arrived in style in his video, included below.
Speaking about the event, Donna explained: “It was obviously a spur-of-the-moment thing that the wedding was changed; we had already planned on having the church wedding – which was already organised for March 2.
We originally had the limos and cars organised for our big day but with the snow made it impossible to drive.
“So, my hairdresser thought I should put it on Facebook and ask if someone had a tractor and trailer for a bride and large bridal party.
“A few people shared and came across Dan Nolan Plant Hire. Dan and his team brought me, my bridesmaids and my mother to the church thankfully.
“I wasn’t going to let the snow disrupt the day – I was prepared to walk to the church if I had to.”
