Day One of the 2016 National Ploughing Championships saw record-breaking crowds of 100,000 people flock to Screggan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.
Following rain at the weekend, there was plenty of muck around the 800ac site today, meaning wellies were essential.
After a cloudy start to Day One, it brightened up and the rain held off for the duration of the day.
There’s over 1,500 exhibits for visitors at this year’s event to check out and with 25km of track-ways and amusements there’s sure to be something for everyone.
Irish and Leinster rugby legend Sean O’Brien was interviewed by Liam Sheedy in the Bank of Ireland tent today who said he’s looking forward to getting back on the pitch after injury.

If you plan on attending Day Two of the Ploughing, bring wellies as persistent and locally heavy rain will move in across the western half of the country, spreading to the remaining areas during the afternoon.
Brighter weather, with scattered showers, is forecast to follow, the clearance eventually arriving on the east coast in the evening.
Maximum temperatures are to range between 14 to 17 Celsius tomorrow, in moderate to fresh southerly winds, decreasing mostly moderate westerly as the rain clears eastwards.
