Machinery giant Kverneland will showcase its 2500 i-Plough, which boasts all manner of sophisticated controls, at this week’s LAMMA show in England.

Essentially a mounted reversible unit, this plough is controlled via an ISOBUS terminal.

ISOBUS is an international technology protocol, that allows tractors to communicate electronically with compatible implements, regardless of brand or manufacturer.

The i-Plough allows the operator to adjust plough settings using an in-cab (ISOBUS) screen in the tractor.

Fingertip controls and on-screen graphics promise easy and intuitive control.

There are automatic implement transport settings which, according to Kverneland, save time when changing from one field to another.

There are also features for keeping ‘ins’ and ‘outs’ tidy at headlands. The plough can match appropriate tractor settings, depending what information is available via the ISOBUS link.

Electronic wizardry aside, the 2500 i-Plough comes as a 4-, 5- or 6-furrow model.

The S version comes with auto-reset legs/bodies; essential for any plough destined for Irish conditions. Furrow width is adjustable from 12″ to 24″.

Kverneland is not the the only company that will have a big focus on ploughs at this week’s LAMMA show.

Amazone ploughs a new furrow

German company Amazone is unveiling its enlarged range of ploughs at LAMMA 2017. Following the takeover of the former Vogel & Noot plough factory, Amazone is bringing a new Cayros mounted reversible plough to the market.

There will be five types. The smallest Cayros M series includes 3- to 4-furrow ploughs for tractors up to 120hp.

Then, going up in size, the Cayros XM, XMS and XS ranges are for tractors of up to 140hp, 200hp and 260hp respectively.

Amazone’s new Cayros offers spring or hydraulic stone protection.

The top of the range Cayros XS pro 4- to 6-furrow models are for tractors up to 380hp. They have been designed as high-performance ploughs for large tillage operations or contractors.

Stepless furrow width adjustment can be specified. So too can coil spring or hydraulic stone protection. Slatted boards are optional.
