The final day of the Balmoral Show saw large crowds flock to the new showgrounds near Lisburn.

It’s a great mix between business and pleasure at the show, according to Ulster Bank’s Cormac McKervey.

One of the highlights of the show this year was the Lely live robotic milking display, in association with Drayne’s farm. A herd of 40 cows made the short journey from Drayne’s farm in Lisburn to a purpose built dairy unit at Balmoral Park where they were milked at their leisure during the Show as they are on the home farm.

Michael Drayne said the family has been milking cows here in Lisburn for over 80 years and were delighted visitors to the Balmoral Show could see their cows and how efficient the system is and how well the cows are cared for.

“They are more relaxed and have the freedom of choice to be milked at any time of the day or night.”

Some of the winners at the show included the Patton family from Newtownards, whose cow Ards At Wood Lou Ella won the supreme champion holstein.

The best Charolais bull of the show went to Robert Williams, while the supreme champion Charolais prize went to the Connolly family of Ballynahinch.

Here, Ulster Bank has put together a great video of some of the highlights of Day 3 at the show and the people – see if you can spot yourself!
