Hailing from Australia, Clipex offers environmentally responsible, highly durable fencing solutions that’s custom-tailored for the unique demands of the Irish landscape.

With European headquarters established in Ennis, Co. Clare, since 2017, Clipex has been revolutionising the way Irish livestock farmers think about fencing.

This month, in celebration of the National Ploughing Championships next week (September 19-21), Clipex is offering discounts on sheep yards, cattle crushes, and fencing systems.

As there’s no time to waste jumping on this deal, here’s more information about the company and its products.

Fencing for Irish farmers

Clipex fence posts are used for cattle, sheep and deer fencing and suitable for a variety of applications. Designed for compatibility with electric fencing, barbed wire, sheep netting and chainlink fences.

Each Clipex post features pre-fixed clips that securely hold horizontal wires, ranging from barbed to netting, dramatically reduced installation time, as there’s no need for hammering of staples.

Clipex posts are grant approved both in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. For the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) under Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS) and the Green Low-Carbon Agri-Environment Scheme (GLAS), and for Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) under bespoke fencing

Please note: Permission must be sought from DAERA before fencing.

Length, durability and installation

Clipex fencing offers an expansive range of post lengths, from 1.5m to 3.0m, to meet all fencing needs. Manufactured with high-tensile galvanised steel, these posts come with a 30-year guarantee.

They’re also environmentally friendly, leaving no chemical footprint and are recyclable at end-of-life.

Clipex posts install as easily as traditional timber posts. For smaller quantities, manual installation with a sledge is straightforward, thanks to Clipex protective drive tubes.

For larger projects, you can use a post knocker or even a petrol-powered post driver, available for hire or purchase directly from Clipex.

Spacing between posts can vary, depending on the specific fencing application and ground conditions. Generally whatever spacings you have used in the past with timber posts will be suitable for Clipex.

Further details on the post’s suitability can be found by clicking here.

There are many variations of strainers available depending on type of fence and of course ground conditions. Our strainer options are also constructed on galvanised steel for strength and longevity.

Electric fencing and netting

Special Clipex insulators easily attach to the posts to enable wire electrification.

Farmers can also use their own netting. Clipex accommodates almost all types of netting. For instances where horizontal wires don’t align with the clips, a 2.5mm HT line wire can be used to secure the netting to the posts.

Your local fencing contractor should be able to offer you some advice on this.

Clipex posts are designed to work with all popular wire brands. Our 11-clip posts are particularly well-suited for both 9/80 and 8/80 sheep patterns as well as most major brands.

The Clipex team is available to give advice on the best product for every farm.
